Doriane Pin has taken another decisive step in her racing career, joining Team Peugeot TotalEnergies as a hypercar development driver. The appointment strengthens her presence at the highest level of endurance racing and positions her within the FIA World Endurance Championship’s premier class structure.
As part of her new role, Pin will contribute to the ongoing development of the Peugeot 9X8 prototype. She is also set to participate in the 2026 FIA World Endurance Championship Rookie Test in Bahrain this November, where she will gain valuable on-track experience with the hypercar programme.
"Joining Team Peugeot TotalEnergies as a development driver is a great source of pride for me," Pin said. "Being able to contribute to the development of the Peugeot 9X8 represents a real opportunity. My goal is to learn as much as possible, fully integrate into the team, and bring my commitment and perspective to help contribute to the success of the project. It's a big step toward my goals, and I'm determined to make the most of it with the ambition of becoming an official driver."
Pin’s responsibilities will include extensive simulator work and close collaboration with Peugeot’s engineering staff as the French manufacturer continues refining the performance of the 9X8. These sessions are designed to deepen her technical understanding of the car ahead of her first official hypercar test outing.
Emmanuel Esnault, Team Principal of Team Peugeot TotalEnergies, welcomed her arrival:
"We are thrilled to welcome Doriane to the Peugeot Sport family. Doriane’s track record and dynamic approach make her a fantastic addition to our development program. We’re looking forward to the new perspectives she will bring as we continue refining the 9X8 and we are eager to see her get behind the wheel during the FIA WEC Rookie Test in Bahrain this November."
Pin becomes the second female driver signed by a FIA WEC hypercar manufacturer in a development capacity, marking another milestone in the growing presence of women at the highest levels of endurance racing.
The Peugeot programme adds to what is already shaping up to be a significant 2026 season for the young French driver. After claiming the 2025 F1 Academy title, Pin will return to endurance racing full-time in the European Le Mans Series, competing in the LMP2 ProAm category with Duqueine Team. Her campaign will also include participation in the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
Pin secured the F1 Academy crown following a dominant 2025 campaign that featured four victories and eight podium finishes. Across her two-year stint in the championship, she scored points in every race she contested, having previously finished runner-up during her 2024 rookie season with three wins.
Before transitioning to single-seaters, Pin had already built a strong reputation in endurance racing. She earned Revelation of the Year honours in the FIA World Endurance Championship after achieving podium finishes in LMP2 machinery and accumulated extensive GT3 experience across multiple international series.
As part of the Iron Dames initiative, she competed in the FIA WEC, ELMS, GT World Challenge Europe and IMSA championships, gaining experience across a wide range of cars and circuits.
Her appointment follows the recent announcement of Jamie Chadwick joining the Genesis Magma Racing hypercar programme in a development role. To date, the only female driver to have driven contemporary hypercar machinery in an official FIA WEC Rookie Test is Ferrari factory driver Lilou Wadoux, who has piloted the Ferrari 499P during the Bahrain tests twice in recent seasons.
With her integration into Peugeot’s hypercar structure, Pin now moves closer to her stated ambition of becoming an official driver at the pinnacle of endurance racing.
