
Formula 1 has revealed the updated track map for the 2026 Spanish Grand Prix, which will mark the championship debut of Madrid’s new MADRING circuit.
The 5.416km, 22-corner venue will host 57 laps and combines purpose-built sections with urban roads around IFEMA MADRID and Valdebebas. The circuit includes long straights, heavy braking zones and the distinctive La Monumental banked corner, making it one of the most anticipated new additions to the calendar.

The updated map confirms two Straight Mode zones.
The first runs along the main straight from Turn 22 towards Turn 1, while the second is located on the long acceleration section between Turns 3 and 4.
Under Formula 1’s 2026 active-aerodynamics regulations, Straight Mode adjusts the front and rear wing elements into a lower-drag configuration in designated high-speed sections. Unlike the former DRS system, its availability is not dependent on being within one second of another car.
The same system has already been seen on other 2026 layouts, including the updated Barcelona track map.

MADRING’s Overtake Mode detection and activation points are both positioned around the end of Sector 3.
The detection point sits shortly before the end of the lap, while the activation point is located around Turn 22 and the entrance to the main straight.
Under the 2026 regulations, a driver who is within one second of the car ahead at the detection point becomes eligible for Overtake Mode on the following lap. The system provides additional electrical deployment, helping the chasing car sustain a higher speed for longer.
With the activation point feeding directly into MADRING’s main Straight Mode zone, drivers could combine Overtake Mode, active aero and the slipstream before the heavy braking zone at Turn 1.
The combination should make the main straight one of the circuit’s primary overtaking opportunities when Formula 1 races at MADRING for the first time in September 2026.
