DS Penske will run a special gold livery at the London E-Prix this weekend as the team and DS Automobiles prepare to close their Formula E chapters.
The London event represents the end of an extended tenure for DS Penske, which is withdrawing from the championship to focus on the SailGP series. Although the current season has proved difficult for the team, its departure comes after one of the most successful periods in Formula E history.
The gold design will be the final livery used by DS Penske in the championship, providing a visual conclusion to the manufacturer’s 11 seasons of electric competition and technology development.
Formula E’s London finale is already set to carry significant competitive stakes, as outlined in our preview of the 2026 London E-Prix. For DS Penske, however, the focus will be on closing its programme with a fitting final appearance.
DS Automobiles entered Formula E in Season 2 as the first premium brand to join the championship. In a statement, the team said its involvement had produced two double titles, 18 victories, 55 podiums and 26 pole positions, as well as a record seven podiums in the Teams’ Championship.
The manufacturer described the final two events as its last Formula E races, bringing an end to what it called an exceptional sporting pedigree against some of the world’s biggest manufacturers.
“Now, after 11 years of electric competition and technology transfer, DS Automobiles closes its remarkable Formula E chapter at the end of Sunday,” the team said.
Bastien Schupp, Director of Marketing and Communications at DS Automobiles, said the manufacturer could leave the championship with pride after achieving the objectives established in 2015.
“These intense years of electric competition, highlighted by records and standout performances, have always provided a tremendous accelerator for innovation at DS Automobiles,” Schupp said.
He added that the experience had generated major learnings in electrified powertrains, energy management and the efficiency of onboard systems. According to Schupp, technologies developed in Formula E have also supported research and development for production models, including the DS N°4, DS N°7 and DS N°8, which offer up to 750 kilometres of electric range.
With that chapter now ending, DS Automobiles says it is moving into a “brand new era of innovation and emotion with SailGP.”
