Charles Milesi set the fastest lap in a wet opening practice session for the 2026 WEC 6 Hours of Monza, taking the #35 Alpine A424 to a 1:45.862 as conditions improved late in the 90-minute session.

Motorsport.com’s end-of-session report placed Yifei Ye second in AF Corse’s #83 Ferrari, 0.401 seconds behind, with Harry Tincknell’s #007 Aston Martin third. Rain and three red flags disrupted the first running of the season finale.

The official WEC results page also listed Alpine’s #35 fastest, but displayed a different provisional order behind it when checked. The positions reported below therefore remain subject to confirmation.

Late improvements change the picture

Robert Kubica had kept the #83 Ferrari at the front for much of practice before the closing improvements reshaped the order, according to Motorsport.com.

Its report recorded identical 1:46.453 laps for Tincknell and Victor Martins in the #36 Alpine, followed by James Calado’s #51 Ferrari. That put both Alpine entries among the leading cars as the French team began its final WEC weekend, one of the storylines in our Monza season-finale preview.

The changing surface limits the conclusions available from the times. A lap set during the late improvement cannot establish a car’s advantage over a rival running earlier in wetter conditions.

Fuoco’s early excursion interrupts Ferrari’s start

Antonio Fuoco went off at Parabolica on his out-lap in the #50 Ferrari. The car avoided major damage and returned to the session.

Further stoppages followed incidents involving Robin Frijns in the #20 BMW at Ascari and James Cottingham at the second Lesmo.

The interruptions reduced continuous running, while the weather gave teams an early opportunity to assess wet-weather behaviour. Michelin has brought the wet tyre introduced at Barcelona alongside its soft and medium slicks, as covered in our Monza tyre-allocation guide.

Fleming heads the reported LMGT3 order

In LMGT3, Motorsport.com reported Tom Fleming fastest in Garage 59’s #10 McLaren with a 1:57.575. Giammarco Levorato’s #88 Proton Competition Ford followed, 0.330 seconds behind.

The #33 TF Sport Corvette was next, ahead of WRT’s #69 BMW, Iron Lynx’s #79 Mercedes and the sister #32 BMW. As in Hypercar, late improvements affected the reported order.

Second practice is scheduled for 14:30 CET on Friday 6 November. The six-hour race starts at 11:00 CET on Sunday 8 November.
