2026 Mexican GP track map reveals three Straight Mode zones
Mexico’s updated 2026 F1 track map shows three Straight Mode zones, plus separate Overtake Mode detection and activation points in the final sector.

The updated 2026 Mexican Grand Prix track map shows three Straight Mode zones at the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez, alongside separate Overtake Mode detection and activation points in the final sector.
The 4.304km circuit features two long low-drag sections and a shorter zone approaching the stadium.
Where are the Straight Mode zones?
The red markings identify three sections:
- Main straight: along the start-finish straight towards Turn 1.
- Between Turns 3 and 4: on the acceleration section following the opening complex.
- Between Turns 11 and 12: on the shorter run towards the stadium section.
Straight Mode changes the angle of both the front and rear wing flaps to reduce aerodynamic drag. It is available to every driver in designated zones when enabled, regardless of the gap to another car. Corner Mode restores the downforce needed for cornering.

The arrangement differs from Austin’s two Straight Mode zones, with Mexico also marking the shorter stretch before Turn 12.
Where are the Overtake Mode points?
The map places Overtake Detection around the exit of Turn 15, within the stadium section. Overtake Activation sits between Turns 16 and 17, before drivers reach the main straight.
Detection checks whether a following driver qualifies for the electrical assistance. Activation marks where that entitlement becomes available.
Under F1’s published explanation of the 2026 system, a driver within one second of the car ahead at detection receives additional electrical harvesting and deployment capability for the following lap. The driver can choose how to use that advantage across the lap.

Overtake Mode provides electrical assistance; Straight Mode reduces drag. Their separate functions mean a driver can use the aerodynamic configuration without qualifying for the extra electrical performance.
As with Singapore’s final-sector detection arrangement, staying close late in the lap could help prepare an attack. In Mexico, that makes the stadium section relevant to the battle along the main straight towards Turn 1.
