Why Bearman’s Haas 2027 deal awaits Ferrari clarity
Oliver Bearman wants to stay at Haas for 2027, but Autosport reports that his longer-term Ferrari future is delaying confirmation. Komatsu rejects pay rumours.

Oliver Bearman’s expected Haas renewal for 2027 remains unannounced as discussions extend beyond next season to his longer-term relationship with Ferrari, according to Autosport.
Both Bearman and Haas team principal Ayao Komatsu have publicly said they want to continue together. The intention to retain him is clear; the announcement is still outstanding.

Ferrari’s 2028 plans complicate the renewal
Autosport reports that Bearman would be free to leave Ferrari’s programme if the Scuderia cannot guarantee him a race seat for 2028, following a prospective third season on loan at Haas.
That makes his future options relevant to the agreement being discussed now. A further year with Haas would maintain his place on the grid, but the reported negotiations also concern his freedom to pursue opportunities afterwards.

Those contractual details remain Autosport’s reporting rather than publicly confirmed terms. Neither a Ferrari promotion nor a departure from its programme has been announced.
Ferrari’s wider route from junior racing into senior roles is covered in our report on its 2027 academy changes and graduate appointments.

Bearman wants to stay, Komatsu rejects salary rumours
Speaking in Mexico, Bearman said: “I want to continue with Haas and that’s definitely my goal.”
He explained that matters in the background still needed resolving and that the announcement’s timing was outside his control.
Komatsu likewise said the two sides wanted to keep working together, while declining to disclose the contractual discussions. He rejected speculation that Bearman’s salary demands were delaying the deal, describing the claim as “absolute nonsense”.

The team boss also emphasised that Haas makes its own driver choices. Its Ferrari relationship provides access to young talent, he said, rather than an obligation to select particular drivers.
Haas has already confirmed Rafael Camara’s arrival for 2027, replacing Esteban Ocon. Bearman is expected to occupy the other seat, but that expectation should remain separate from a completed announcement.
